OASIS AT HEATHROW

Those wanting to run an event near Heathrow Airport will want to include the Marriott London Heathrow hotel in the list of options.

This modern property on the Bath Road offers 393 comfortable en-suite bedrooms, with tea and coffee facilities, air-conditioning, mini-bar, large work areas, Sky TV, internet access, safes for lap-tops and good in-bed reading lighting. There are 13 Executive rooms that offer access to the complimentary snacks and drinks in the relaxing Executive Lounge. There are 20 accessible bedrooms, and 30 where guests can smoke.

For events there are thirteen meetings areas giving a total of 24 rooms and part-room combinations for 15 to 480 delegates, the largest being the first-floor London Suite which divides into three. All have air-conditioning, and all bar one is wheelchair accessible. For those arriving on the Underground at Heathrow the Transport for London bus services from and to the airport are frequent and free.

For those who want to make the airport’s greedy management even richer there is the hotel Hoppa bus service, brought in a few years back by the airport’s management to profitably replace the hotel’s courtesy bus services they’d barred from the airport, priced at £4.50 each way.

Like many airport hotels the Marriott London Heathrow offers a “Fly Away” package for those who want to stay one night and fly off the next morning, leaving their car in the hotel’s free car park until they return. Price of this varies according to the time of year and number of car-parking days wanted but prices given to us indicated a level from £99 for room only with 8 days parking, and £169 for room only with 15 days parking, both prices representing a considerable saving over the cost of on-airport parking, and including a relaxing night’s stay.
