To the Hilton London Metropole hotel, Edgware Road, one of Europe’s largest with 1,059 bedrooms, dining space for up to 2,000 and conference space for up to 3,000.
Bedrooms are modern, comfortable and stylish, and all at Guest Room grade (274) have air-conditioning, mini-bars, tea and coffee making facilities, laptop safes, telephones and LCD satellite TVs, hairdryers, irons and ironing boards, 24hour in-room dining, work stations and wireless internet for which charges may apply. Deluxe Rooms (239) are on the higher floors with city views and Superior Rooms (307) are larger, with Family Superior Rooms (45) offering two queen-size beds, sofa and two TVs. Executive Rooms (170) and Suites (20) offer free access to the Executive Lounge for a complimentary continental breakfast and alcohols and snacks. The Executive Rooms have a large work station with an ergonomic chair and a bathroom with a separate shower stall. Suites offer a lounge, bedroom and bathroom, with Studio Suites (4) also incorporating a fully fitted kitchen for self-catering and longer stays.
The Hilton London Metropole offers a total of 4,300 square metres (46,285 square feet) of flexible, pillar-free space, which incorporates up to 2,300 square metres (25,000 square feet) of exhibition space. The biggest spaces are in the hotel’s West Wing where the Monarch suite and the Kings suite directly above it will each seat up to 1,600 delegates theatre-style and is divisible into three to give four other possible combinations seating 200/400/650/800. Also in the West Wing is a suite of seventeen meetings rooms being six rooms for 28, six for 22 and five for 18, all with movable partitions giving another seventeen combinations for groups of 40-200, and with additional access, via a Business Centre, from the third floor of the adjacent Tower Wing The West Wing also has an another room for 14 and a dedicated ground floor registration area.
The East Wing houses a suite for 816 which divides into three spaces for 70/270/374, a suite for 250 which divides into two spaces for 60/130 and a suite of mezzanine meeting rooms with four for 25, one for 30, three for 40, one for 60, one for 66, one for 120, one for 135 and one for 140. And the adjacent Tower Wing offers three boardrooms for 16, purpose-designed for high levels of privacy, and a Groups Desk for check in located in the lobby.
The hotel has three restaurants (see last issue for review of the newly-opened Kojawan) two bars, a whisky lounge, a LivingWell Health Club with 12.5metre pool, steam room, sauna, gym and sports shop and a Contrasti Hair and Beauty Salon.
